Viansa '21 Moon Mountain Cielo Vertice Cabernet Franc
The nose of the 2021 Vertice expands with blackberry, plum, dark chocolate covered strawberries, violets, and graphite. The palate has a beautiful balance of richness, prevalent but finessed tannins, and mouthwatering acidity. Flavors of black cherry, black currant, licorice, and caramelized oak carry through on the palate. This Cabernet Franc will pair wonderfully with rack of lamb with a red wine sauce or seared Akaushi filet with caramelized broccolini and jus.
An elegant example of Cabernet Franc, the Charlie Smith Vineyard is at 1,600 feet elevation on the Sonoma County side of the Mayacamas Mountain range. This elevation and the coastal influence allow for the perfect pairing of slightly stressed vines with smaller berries and the ability to recover during the cooler evenings.
Label Artwork: The four different sections of this label represent the four generations of the Sebastiani family at Viansa. The gold pathways created between the pieces, and well as the raised lines on one of them, highlight the importance of the journey taken to scale great heights and reach il vertice – the summit.
