Viansa '22 North Coast Terra Rosé of Barbera 3L
This is a double magnum bottle (3 liters) of wine!
The Barbera from the Las Lomas vineyard is planted on gently sloping volcanic soils at 1560 feet elevation. This vineyard site produces lovely grapes that have balanced acidity with a backbone of minerality. This wine jumps out of the glass with notes of red berries, white peach, and hints of ripe pears. The entry of this wine comes off rich but balanced with the acidity and minerality. Flavors of white strawberry, citrus blossoms, and stone fruits shine through on the palate. Our Rosé of Barbera pairs well with goat cheese crostini with hot honey or grilled vegetables with Meyer lemon, fresh tarragon, olive oil, and shaved parmesan.
Barbera is a popular red Italian grape varietal known for its deep color, full body, low tannins, and high acidity. Composed of 100% Barbera, we’re loving the Italian inspiration in this wine.
Picked in the early morning the cold grape clusters were destemmed and sat on the skins for four hours to give the juice is beautiful pink color before being pressed to tank. After being racked off the heavy solids the juice was fermented at 58F to preserve the beautiful aromatics. The dry wine was then racked off the lees and aged in tank for 3 months before bottling.
